“You can’t do Made-in-America without Made-in-Ohio, and the workers I met with today at Team Wendy prove that every day.”

CLEVELAND – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) today joined Team Wendy workers in Cleveland to visit their facility and discuss the company’s manufacturing efforts.
Headquartered in Cleveland, Team Wendy is a global manufacturer and supplier of advanced helmet systems for defense, law enforcement, search and rescue and adventure sports markets.
“Right here in Cleveland, Ohio workers are manufacturing equipment that protects our military and law enforcement officers across the globe. You can’t do Made-in-America without Made-in-Ohio, and the workers I met with today at Team Wendy prove that every day,” said Husted.
In the FY26 National Defense Authorization Act, Husted secured report language that encouraged the Department of the Army and Department of the Air Force to require head and hearing protection for aircraft maintenance personnel. Team Wendy manufactures head and hearing protection equipment in its Cleveland facility.
As a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Husted is backing several bills to help businesses continue to thrive:
- Made in America Manufacturing Financing Act:
- This bill would expand access to growth capital for small U.S.-based manufacturers.
- Investing in All of America Act:
- This bill would expand access to capital for small businesses in rural and low-income communities, as well as those in the manufacturing and critical technology sectors.
- The Senate and House have passed the Investing in All of America Act, and it will be signed into law by the President.
Husted also supported the Working Families Tax Cuts Act in July, which includes pro-growth policies that support investment in manufacturing states like Ohio:
- Full and immediate expensing for investments in machinery, equipment, technology and software through bonus depreciation.
- Doubles small business expensing limits for new investments in machinery, equipment, technology and software.
- Permanent and immediate expensing for research and development costs.
- Full expensing for investments in new factories.
- Permanently expands the interest write-off available to businesses and manufacturers.
- Cuts taxes on tips and overtime, saving tipped and overtime workers up to $1,750 per year.
