“It was energizing to be on the ground in Zanesville today with leaders who are focused on doing just that—reducing reliance on foreign energy, expanding domestic supply and cutting red tape that slows us down.”

ZANESVILLE, OH – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) today joined a roundtable discussion with Ohio oil and gas industry leaders on key regulatory and operational issues facing the sector and how Ohio can lead the way in strengthening America’s domestic energy supply.
“Ohio is leading the way in powering America’s energy future, and the future of reliable energy depends on policies that boost American production while lowering costs for hardworking families. It was energizing to be on the ground in Zanesville today with leaders who are focused on doing just that—reducing reliance on foreign energy, expanding domestic supply and cutting red tape that slows us down,” said Husted.
Husted supported the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which became law in July 2025. The law encourages innovation and expands American energy production by:
- Making Ohio energy more affordable by extending the clean hydrogen production tax credit to January 1, 2028, which helps ensure the continued sustainability of Ohio’s Appalachian Clean Energy Hub, ARCH2.
- Eliminating the natural gas tax for 10 years.
- Increasing American energy production by expanding oil, gas and coal leasing.
Husted’s first piece of legislation to become law was a resolution that reversed a Biden-era regulation that forced unreasonable energy efficiency standards on an array of appliances families and businesses use every day.
