Husted, Moreno introduce resolution honoring fallen Ohio Air National Guard members

“The families and loved ones of Capt. Koval, Capt. Angst, and Master Sgt. Simmons remain in Tina and my prayers.”

WASHINGTON – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) joined Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) in introducing a resolution honoring the three Ohio servicemembers killed in the March 12, 2026, KC-135 crash in Iraq.

Capt. Seth Koval, Capt. Curtis Angst, and Master Sgt. Tyler Simmons served with the 121st Air Refueling Wing at Rickenbacker Air Force Base in Columbus. The resolution honors their lives, service and sacrifice and expresses condolences to the families, friends and fellow servicemembers mourning their loss.

“As a grateful nation continues to mourn these Ohio heroes, it is important Americans remember their legacy of service and sacrifice. Senator Moreno and I joined together to honor them with this resolution, and it is a small way to do just that. The families and loved ones of Capt. Koval, Capt. Angst, and Master Sgt. Simmons remain in Tina and my prayers. These men carried out dangerous and critical missions in defense of our nation, and we are forever grateful for their service,” said Husted.

“America is indebted to Curtis Angst, Tyler Simmons, and Seth Koval for their service and sacrifice to protect our freedoms. Their loss is devastating for our country, and I join all Ohioans in praying for their loved ones,” said Moreno.
