Dear friends and neighbors,

I’ve heard concerns from Ohioans about high energy costs. This is why I voted for the budget bill that was signed into law: I believe the future of reliable energy depends on energy policies that encourage innovation and expand American energy production.

Families and job creators—especially tech businesses—need affordable, dependable power. Energy independence is key to supporting jobs and making life more affordable for Ohioans.

This law makes Ohio energy more affordable by extending the clean hydrogen production tax credit to January 1, 2028, which helps ensure the continued sustainability of Ohio’s Appalachian Clean Energy Hub, ARCH2. That’s good for southeast Ohio and our entire state.

It also eliminates the natural gas tax for 10 years and reverses Democrats’ stifling, anti-energy policies. The law also increases American energy production by expanding oil, gas, and coal leasing.
