Dear friends and neighbors,

As your U.S. Senator, I’m working to make America’s military stronger and defend our future. And Ohio plays an important role in keeping America strong and safe.

I supported the recent budget law because it promotes peace through strength. Without it, our military would struggle to modernize even though the threats from adversaries like Iran, China, Russia, and North Korea are very real.

How are we ensuring that America’s military remains the strongest in the world?

Our budget law invests $400 million in speeding up the production of the Air Force’s F-47 sixth-generation air superiority aircraft. That will help America maintain air dominance over the battlefields of tomorrow.

The law invests $678 million to accelerate the Collaborative Combat Aircraft program, a semi-autonomous jet designed to fly with and assist manned aircraft. Once fully developed, the aircraft produced under this program will create a force multiplier effect that will enable our military to affordably project strength without needing to put more pilots’ lives in danger.

The budget law also modernizes our national defenses by investing in the Golden Dome air and missile defense system that will protect our homeland from threats from Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea.

However, it’s not enough to ensure that our service members are equipped with the best weapons systems in the world; they also need more of them than our adversaries. That’s why the budget law also restocks critical ammunition stockpiles and expands America’s advanced manufacturing capacity. These advancements give us more resources to strengthen our military.

We’re investing in scaling the production of innovative and low-cost weapons, including drones, counter-drone technology, affordable munitions, and artificial intelligence.

Being able to win conflicts decisively is the best way to prevent conflicts in the first place, and this budget law puts America on the right footing to do just that.

These investments will create the next generation of American defense, which ensures the safety and security of our nation for our kids and grandkids.
