“I was on the ground in central and northeast Ohio to honor our nation’s veterans, celebrate Ohio’s young innovators and see firsthand the exciting new investments in the state—bringing jobs and opportunities to our communities.”

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) spent the Senate’s state work period meeting with entrepreneurs, industry leaders and veterans in central and northeast Ohio.

“I was on the ground in central and northeast Ohio to honor our nation’s veterans, celebrate Ohio’s young innovators and see firsthand the exciting new investments in the state—bringing jobs and opportunities to our communities,” said Husted.

Husted observed Memorial Day by delivering remarks during the Remembrance Ceremony at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus, Ohio. More than 700,000 veterans call Ohio home, and nearly 70,000 Ohioans have made the ultimate sacrifice during their service in the U.S. military.

“We live in the greatest country in the world because of the veterans who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom and the security we’re fortunate to have as Americans. We will always remember these heroes,” shared Husted.

Husted visited Boeing’s facility at the Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority’s Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center campus. The tour focused on the Minuteman III inter-continental ballistic missile repair services at the site.

The event marked Boeing’s announcement of its long-term commitment to the Port Authority and Ohio through a lease extension guaranteed through 2038. The aerospace company’s latest investment represents a $50 million commitment to the state.

“Made-in-America is rooted in Ohio, and Boeing’s continued investment in Heath proves that. Boeing’s new commitment to our state is a testament to the hardworking Ohioans who make Heath a nationwide leader in aerospace and defense manufacturing and innovation. The Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority and Boeing partnership will continue to advance the technology of today to prepare America to defeat the challenges of tomorrow,” said Husted.

Husted also delivered remarks to Ohioans at the Forbes 30 Under 30 Local List Launch in Columbus, Ohio. As lieutenant governor, Husted welcomed the Forbes 30 Under 30 Conference in Cleveland and Cincinnati in 2023 and 2024. The local list recognizes outstanding young entrepreneurs and leaders in Ohio.

“It was great to celebrate young innovators and entrepreneurs across our state. Job creators are investing here because they recognize the talent and work ethic that Ohioans bring to the table. That’s why there’s no better place to grow a business or conduct research than in Ohio,”added Husted.

Husted joined the grand opening and tour of Eagle Electronics in Solon, Ohio. Eagle Electronics is a cellular and wireless module manufacturer and the first in the U.S. to produce 4G cellular modules.

“Eagle Electronics is a prime example of Ohio leading the way in bringing semiconductor manufacturing back to the U.S. With this investment, more jobs and opportunities are coming to our state. Ohio is the engine that keeps our country advancing technologically, economically and militarily,” Husted explained.

Husted met with ITServe’s Columbus chapter. ITServe is the largest association of IT services in the nation.

“Information technology is essential to the modern workforce. ITServe’s support for STEM education and professional development programs enhances companies’ abilities to succeed,” said Husted.
