Sen. Husted’s office is happy to assist Ohioans in purchasing an American flag flown over the U.S. Capitol. These flags make meaningful gifts to commemorate special occasions such as retirements, birthdays, graduations, military service, or other important milestones.

The requested flag can be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Architect of the Capitol, which includes the name of the person or organization for whom the flag was flown, the date that the flag was flown, and the occasion.

Important Considerations

This is a secure payment system managed by the U.S. Treasury Department. On the site, you can select your preferred flag type, size, and payment method, and indicate whether you would like your flag flown on a specific date. Please do not send cash or check payments to Sen. Husted’s office. Please only use the official portal. The cost includes the actual flag, the certificate, and shipping.

Forms must be received at least two weeks before the date the flag will be flown. Please allow an additional four to six weeks after the flag has been flown for delivery. If you would like your flag flown on a specific date—such as a birthday, anniversary, or holiday—please place your order at least six weeks in advance.

While every effort is made to accommodate date requests, specific fly dates cannot be guaranteed due to high demand. Additionally, processing time may vary around federal holidays. If you do not have a date preference, you may choose to order a pre-flown flag. These flags are typically processed and shipped quickly, but they do not include a personalized certificate tied to a specific date or occasion. The U.S. Senate, members, and staff are not responsible for flags lost or damaged in the mail. Once a date has passed, it is no longer possible to purchase a flag flown on that date.
